Senior PHP Developer (Laravel + Vue/React)

We are looking for a Senior PHP Developer to join a long-term Laravel project on a part-time, fully remote basis. The project is a large web platform for a Canadian client that our team has been building and maintaining for over five years.

The current team: 1 backend dev, 1 frontend dev, 2 QA engineers, 1 BA, 1 PM, 1 designer. We’re adding a senior developer on a part-time basis – someone who can write code, review what the team produces, build out modern frontend features, and weigh in on technical decisions.

What the work looks like

You’ll be working across the stack. Some tasks are pure backend – Laravel, MySQL, API work. Others involve building or refactoring frontend components in Vue or React. And sometimes the team needs a senior opinion on an architectural decision or a tricky bug. Not one fixed role – a combination of all three.

• Backend development in Laravel (features, APIs, performance work)
• Frontend development in Vue.js or React (building and improving UI components)
• Code review – giving feedback that actually helps the team move forward
• MySQL: queries, schema design, optimization
• Working alongside a traditional jQuery/HTML/CSS frontend layer
• Jira for task tracking, Bitbucket for version control, Ubuntu/cPanel for server-side work

Who we’re looking for

• 5+ years of PHP development experience
• Strong, hands-on Laravel knowledge – real project experience, not just familiarity
• Proficiency in Vue.js or React – you’ve built real things with at least one of them
• Solid MySQL skills – can design schemas, write efficient queries, debug slow ones
• Experience with Ubuntu servers and cPanel
• Comfortable with jQuery and traditional frontend (HTML/CSS) alongside modern frameworks
• Experience with Git (Bitbucket), comfortable in Jira
• English is not required – the team communicates in Ukrainian

Format

• Part-time: roughly 10-20 hours per week
• Hourly billing – paid for actual hours worked
• Preferred availability: 15:00–18:00 Kyiv time on weekdays (flexible)
• Fully remote

This isn’t a short-term contract. The relationship with this client has been running for years, and if the fit is there, it stays that way.
